Dental Restorations

Our teeth can develop different types of visually unpleasing defects, such as cavity, decay, chipping, or erosion. If not treated in time, these problems can worsen and lead to jaw and gum disorders with major consequences. Dental restorations are treatments meant to prevent such consequences by removing such defects as they emerge and preserve the natural teeth.

How Is Dental Restoration Performed?

First, our dentist examines the extent of damage caused by cavity or decay in the internal layers of the teeth. The defective portion of the teeth is removed and cleaned while preserving as much of the natural tooth as possible.

Now, our dentist offers various methods to ensure a safe and durable dental restoration in Dubai. Some of these methods include:

Dental Fillings:

The most traditional way of restoring hollowed cavities is dental fillings. It is a custom-colored paste made of porcelain, composite resin, or even gold and silver. This paste can be directly applied over the cavity in less than 10 to 15 minutes. They are highly preferred for restoring the rear molars, which are seldom visible while smiling.

Indirect Restorations:

The dentist can take accurate impressions of the cavity and create the missing tooth portion synthetically. If a significant portion of a tooth is removed, the dentist can create a small mold of the missing portion in one session and get a plastic replica made. In the next seating, this plastic replica will be attached to the affected tooth with special adhesives.

Inlays & Overlays:

If the defect is found on the cusp of a molar tooth, it can be covered with inlays or overlays as required. An Inlay covers the creases between the cusps of a molar tooth, while an Overlay fits over a cusp. They can be used together or individually, depending on the extent of tooth removal.

Dental Crowns:

If the infection spreads to the internal pulp of a tooth, a root canal treatment is performed to extract it and filled with composite fillings. However, if the tooth also needs a partial or complete replacement, you will have to opt for dental crowns. We offer a wide range of crowns to help you get an aesthetic appealing dental restoration in Dubai.
